Less dairy
I eat dairy, but I try not to eat very much. (The dairy we do consume is dairy you might find more common to a Mediterranean diet like greek yogurt, feta cheese and so forth.)
So what is it they say…”Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?” Well I think I did buy the cow, it lived in my kitchen and it provided me with all kinds of stuff I didn’t need all day long! I did get calcium from my Cow, but I am pretty sure the vast quantities of diet coke I was drinking leeched that right out of me so it was probably a wash. So basically my Cow was a Calorie Cow that just milked me for all I was worth!
Most of my life my diet on a daily basis included a string cheese (or two), some milk in my cereal, some cheese on my sandwich, maybe some cottage cheese, or a yoplait yogurt. I ate a LOT of dairy. I pretty much know that was not working for me…so when I started reading all the reasons people avoid dairy…I thought why not try it. For me it has been an improvement.
I also think it is worth noting that most people in the medical field will tell you to make sure your dairy is organic. And I have had a few friends dealing with cancer who were told to just get it out of their diets…so if you look at the whole picture there just doesn’t seem to be a lot of reason TO Eat A LOT of dairy. I figure use the calories on something else!
